#002 Desperately Wanting Wednesday: Featuring Books That Give Me Evil Thoughts!!!

Desperatly Wanting Wednesday, hosted by Parajunkee's View

Desperately Wanting Wednesday was created by the awesome Parajunkee. It's not only for new upcoming releases, but it can be for books that were missed, books that have already been released, or even books that you want and haven't been purchased yet.

This post is featuring a few of the "green with envy" ARC's that other fellow bloggers have received and I haven't. You know, those books that you would absolutely DIE TO REVIEW early, but weren't lucky enough to score a copy?!

Yep, those...these are just a few of my ARC desired review wishes.

Books That Give Evil Thoughts

TEAM HUMAN BY JUSTINE LARBALESTIER & SARAH REES BRENNANTitle: Team Human
Author: Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan
Publication Date: July 3 , 2012

Just because Mel lives in New Whitby, a city founded by vampires, doesn't mean she knows any of the blood-drinking undead personally. They stay in their part of town; she says in hers. Until the day a vampire shows up at her high school. Worse yet, her best friend, Cathy, seems to be falling in love with him. It's up to Mel to save Cathy from a mistake she might regret for all eternity!

On top of trying to help Cathy (whether she wants it or not), Mel is investigating a mysterious disappearance for another friend and discovering the attractions of a certain vampire wannabe. Combine all this with a cranky vampire cop, a number of unlikely romantic entanglements, and the occasional zombie, and soon Mel is hip-deep in an adventure that is equal parts hilarious and touching.

Acclaimed authors Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan team up to create a witty and poignant story of cool vampires, warm friendships, and the changes that test the bonds of love.

I am so incredibly excited for this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy, when I noticed that other's were getting ARC's - that pesky "green-eyed little demon" came out and I was just like..."Oooh, I want..."

DREAMLESS BY JOSEPHINE ANGELINITitle: Dreamless
Author: Josephine Angelini
Publication Date: May 29, 2012

Can true love be forgotten?

As the only scion who can descend into the Underworld, Helen Hamilton has been given a nearly impossible task. By night she wanders through Hades, trying to stop the endless cycle of revenge that has cursed her family. By day she struggles to overcome the fatigue that is rapidly eroding her sanity. Without Lucas by her side, Helen is not sure she has the strength to go on.

Just as Helen is pushed to her breaking point, a mysterious new Scion comes to her rescue. Funny and brave, Orion shields her from the dangers of the Underworld. But time is running out—a ruthless foe plots against them, and the Furies' cry for blood is growing louder.

As the ancient Greek world collides with the mortal one, Helen's sheltered life on Nantucket descends into chaos. But the hardest task of all will be forgetting Lucas Delos.

Look at that cover, who wouldn't want to score an ARC of this and review it immediately?! I cannot wait for the next installment in this wonderful series.

FATED BY ALYSON NOELTitle: Fated
Author: Alyson Noel
Publication Date: May 22, 2012

Lately strange things have been happening to Daire Santos. Animals follow her, crows mock her, and glowing people appear out of nowhere. Worried that Daire is having a nervous breakdown, her mother packs her off to stay in the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico with a grandmother she’s never met.

There she crosses paths with Dace, a gorgeous guy with unearthly blue eyes who she’s encountered before...but only in her dreams. And she’ll get to know her grandmother—a woman who recognizes Daire’s bizarre episodes for what they are. A call to her true destiny as a Soul Seeker, one who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead. Her grandmother immediately begins teaching her to harness her powers—but it’s an art that must be mastered quickly. Because Dace’s brother is an evil shape-shifter who’s out to steal her powers. Now Daire must embrace her fate as a Soul Seeker and find out if Dace is one guy she’s meant to be with...or if he’s allied with the enemy she’s destined to destroy.

I tried for an ARC of this one and haven't received one yet, but when I saw other's receiving it I was like..."whhhhhyyyyyyyyy have you forsaken me, book gods?!"

  5. That's kind of harsh to say about Alyson Noel, especially when you know I kind of like her.

  6. Aw, I'm sorry that you were disappointed in Fated. I was hoping that it was going to be a little better than The Immortal series.
