Last year, I tried to do too many reading challenges and ended up falling behind so much, that I decided I'd only concentrate on my 2014 Goodreads Challenge. So far, I've only read 106 of the 125 reading challenge goal. I'm seven books behind schedule on that challenge and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to meet it, but I'm going to try my best. It's not like 106 books is a shabby number, so I'm definitely not going to be beating myself up over it too much, with everything that's been going on in the last few months and given that I broke my leg over the summer I think I've done pretty good so far.
For 2014, I decided that I'm only going to concentrate on four reading challenges, instead of killing myself with too many. Evie @ Bookish is hosting the TBR Pile Reading Challenge and I thought that would be a fantastic challenge for me to participate in, since I have loads of books sitting on my shelves and on my Kindle that I've practically had forever and need to get around to reading. Perfect challenge for that.
This is going to go hand in hand with my TBR Reading Jar, that I have sitting on my desk next to my laptop. It has several pieces of folded up post it notes in it, that each have a name of a book and the respective author on it, that has been sitting either on my bookshelf or my Kindle for a good while now. Every month I'll be picking two random books out of it and reading them, so I decided my level for this particular reading challenge would be First Kiss (21-30) books. I can easily meet that challenge using my TBR Reading Jar, no problems and no extra stress.
