I’ve seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall. I know I’m supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me—again.
Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects—and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school. But I’m also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way. The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom. So why do they have it in for me?
It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can’t use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me—and I’m in for the fight of my life.

❝My Thoughts❞

Dark Frost is a fast paced exciting book full of awesome! It's the perfect blend of danger, mythos, and romance sure enough to keep any reader captivated. Jennifer Estep definitely ramped up the tension with this installment of The Mythos Academy series. It's rich and compelling, full of dangerous twists and unexpected turns. The mythos is more developed and the characters are incredibly likable and easy to connect with. It makes reading this series a lot of fun.

Gwen is delightfully amazing, full of so much grit and determination as she battles the Reapers to keep them from killing her and finding the Helheim Dagger that her mother hid. She basically finds herself in the battle of her life. Her super savy investigative skills make her pretty resourceful when needed. It was nice to see her starting come into her own and finding her footing. Jennifer Estep writes her in such a relatable way that shows just how amazing she really is and what she can be capable of, but also highly a couple of her flaws showing that she's not exactly perfect. It makes her a more realstic character and gives readers someone they can cheer on and sympathize with, as well.

I personally enjoyed the blossoming romance between Gwen and Logan. They definitely have some pretty amazing chemistry. It's nice to see how much these two obviously care about each other and how human they are in their budding relationship. The book through out an interesting twist, that definitely left me thirsting for more. Logan, is such an amazing character and quite possibly, one of my favorites. I love that not everything about these two is perfect, it makes them more realistic and easier to enjoy.

Dark Frost is full of action, danger, and witty banter that is sure to wow any paranormal fan. It's brimming with amazing intrigue and mystery, that will keep readers guessing at every turn. The romance is sweet and realistic, the supporting characters have a way of standing out and shining in the own way, and it's just a fantastically written gripping novel full of suspense and drama. I would defintiely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Jennifer Armentrout, Kelley Armstrong, or Lee Nichols.
