Bookish Charms Creations

Creations by Suz @ A Soul Unsung
Bookish Charms
One of the things that I wanted to start doing on the blog, was talking about other things besides just the books that I love to read and various other bookish related stuff. It was a way of making this blog a little more personal and and a little more me. You may have have seen where I talk about my love of creating jewelry and other things in my blogging goals post for this year or in my recent letter to my future!self that I wrote and posted during last weekend's Book Blogger LoveAThon

I have a pretty big announcement that I'll be making in this post, but that's coming up in a bit. I wanted to share with you a few of the things that I have been creating over the last few months, because I'm extremely proud of the way they've turned out. I got into beading and jewelry making about a year and a half ago, because I was looking for another outlet to besides the blog to focus on. I never dreamed in my wildest imagination, that I would really enjoy it as much as I do right now. It's pretty amazing when I see an idea coming together and forming in my mind, then to be able to sit down and put together the design, and actually make it happen is even more awesome. Everything I've learned so far, though, has been self-taught through a lot of Youtube video tutorials and through the process of trial and error.

Bookish Charms
For a while, I was just making what I like to call beaded book charms, which are actually bookmarks with little charms and pretty beads dangling from the ends. They're like those book thongs that you can buy in the bookstores and various little boutiques around your area. I was pretty content with that for a while, but then I started branching out into necklaces, earrings, charm bracelets (the standard ones) and now I'm actually making what I call a beautiful cluster charm bracelet, chunky charms that can be used to hang from journals, mini albums, purses, and of course smaller chunky key chains and purse bling. I even have an idea or new design in mind for a different kind of charm bracelet using beautiful beads and charms, plus a lot of chain and a chunkier charm to connect it all together.

Usually I give away my creations for birthday's, Christmas, and other times to friends and family. For the last few months, I have actually had some pretty steady orders for my chunky key chains, book charms, and cluster charm bracelets where I have actually received payment for. It wasn't until I had read a really good friend's book, If Only We by Jessica Sankiewicz, and was inspired by one of the most beautifully written characters that I decided I wanted to do really put everything I had into my jewelry design. I'm lucky to have so many wonderfully talented friends and people in my life who support me in this venture. It's a little scary, but I've decided that I'm going to just take the plunge and open up an Etsy shop this coming May, where I'll be selling some of my one-of-a-kind custom creations.

Bookish Charms
I have a link at the top of my blog in my navigation bar that reads Bookish Charms, if you click on that link it will take you to a page where I talk a little bit more about my jewelry and custom beaded bookmarks, the type of beads and various charms that I use to make them with and there are even pictures of examples of my work. If you scroll a little bit  more, there is an order form where you can place orders for the beaded bookmarks and there is a list of prices. This is something that I'm putting my whole heart into and I'm hoping to make this a monthly feature here on the blog, where I share with you a few of the Bookish Charms pieces that I've created either for the Etsy shop this coming May or from the orders that I've received payment for.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing and I hope that it didn't bore you too much. Comment and let me know what you think of my creations, I'd love to know. If you have any idea's for bookmarks and bracelets that are based on characters from certain books or series themselves, let me know as a suggestion and I'll see what I can hopefully create. Don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to order something for yourself and if you have idea's of colors, type, and charms I'm definitely open to that too.

  3. There's a great sense of fun as Astro discovers gucci replica his ability to fly (jet boots!) and soars though the city, then high above the clouds and then tunnels replica belts through a mountain at super speed before erupting through the volcano top. Later Astro finds himself prada replica in the clutches of a Stromboli-esque figure called Ham Eggs and eventually has to square off against a chanel outlet myriad of awesome robot fighters.

The final showdown between Astro and his louis vuitton outlet nemesis provides some particularly great eye-candy http://www.24jdc.us/information.asp.
