Question of the Week: Hard print (real thing) or Kindle/Nook, which is your favorite?

First of all, this is a great question and second, I've been giving this some thought for quite a while now and I feel like I really enjoy both hard print and Kindle books equally for different reasons.

Obviously, I love collecting hard print/paperback books and seeing them all lined up and looking pretty on my shelves, but trying to find the space to house all of them doesn't necessarily work out the way I'd always like it too. I keep having to arrange and re-arrange my shelves in order to make room for new books in a series/trilogy/duology, etc. so that they'll all fit and be pretty, but also stay in order too. This definitely requires me to become a little creative in making this happen, lol. And right now, I just don't have the money or the room to get a new bookshelf.

This is where I really start to love my Kindle just a little bit more, because not only does it save on space for me with most of my stand alone books, but it's also a lot easier to carry around when I have to visit the doctor's office, run errands, or possibly go on a trip. I like the ease of knowing that I can pick up my Kindle and have over 500+ books at my fingertips and I can read practically anything that I want or that I'm feeling like reading at any given moment, without having to pack around 5 to 10 books with me or having to go through the hassle of trying to cover all the basis from choosing at least one book from every genre I might be feeling like reading at the moment. Obviously, you can see how that could become a pain in the arse. lol.

I didn't always feel this way about eBooks though, a few years ago it used to be nothing but physical copies and physical copies only. Boy, I feel like I've grown up into my reading and my habits have definitely changed for the better. I do have a great love for my physical copies though and I will continue to buy them, but I also see the wonderful potential in having the ease of an eReader and a wonderful collection of eBooks at the ready too.

So, tell me, which do you prefer physical books or Kindle/Nook? Leave a comment below (with the links so I can follow you) and link up to your Feature & Follow Friday post!

2014 eBook Reading Challenge

Since my Kindle has become my new bff and I spend most of my reading time using it, I thought this challenge would be perfectly easy for me to handle in the new year. For some reason, I find it a lot easier to read on my Kindle, I don't know if it's because I feel like I'm able to get through a book faster or what, but I have gone from staunchly disliking them in the last three years to loving my eReader more than anything. Plus, I'm not tied down to my computer when I have eGalley's that I need to finish up with and get reviewed. The ease of Netgalley's automatically sending whatever galley I have been approved for there straight to my Kindle, makes things a lot more hassle-free.

I've decided that I'm going to start with the DVD level, which consists of 25 eBooks and work my way up the levels from there. I haven't decided what books I'm going to read yet, but I think I'll work on that as I choose to read them. I know there'll be some review galley's thrown in there and some other eBooks that I've been meaning to read that have been on my Kindle for months now, some gifted and some not.
