Amazing Cover Reveal featuring One Song Away by Molli Moran

Alright guys, I am extremely excited and as thrilled as I can be to be sharing this AMAZING COVER REVEAL with you all for a fabulous NA book that's definitely going to ROCK YOUR WORLD, just as much as the ridiculously talented author will. So, if you're as excited to see the cover for One Song Away by Molli Moran as much as I am keep reading this post. Remember, don't forgot to show love for the amazingly talented cover designer as well, Marie Landry. She has written some amazing books as well, that you would fall in love with, too. So, I encourage you guys to check them out, as well.

Alright, here goes...

Cover Design by Marie Landry
New Adult Contemporary Romance
Releasing December 2014
She needs a fill-in boyfriend. He needs a favor. It's the perfect, no-strings arrangement -- until they both realize it's too real...

Sophie-Claire Wright's life is like a bad country song on repeat. She keeps running into her cheating ex, her songwriting career isn't taking off, and to make matters worse, her roommate just kicked her out of their apartment. With nothing to lose, she decides to do the one thing she said she'd never do: she moves back home. She left her small Southern town with big dreams, but now she's going home with empty pockets.

Life moves at a slower pace in Sophie’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it hometown, but her well-meaning, matchmaking mother doesn't have a slow gear. She invents a boyfriend to hold off her mother's efforts, but she’s out of luck when her mom wants to meet Sophie’s boyfriend. Sophie panics until she runs into Jake Cooper. Her high school crush is back in town, too, and when he asks her for a favor, she agrees -- on one condition. He says he'll be her fill-in boyfriend, so it should be simple: introduce him to her family and then "break up" with him after a few weeks.

Sophie is sure she'll be able to resist Jake this time and that their fake relationship will keep them both away from wagging tongues. Just because she was in love with him years ago doesn't mean she'll fall for him again now, right? But she didn't bargain for moments that feel all too genuine. Dates that don't seem fake. And she didn't count on old feelings resurfacing and complicating their arrangement —- which is starting to feel less like acting and more like the real deal.

Soon, Sophie can't tell which kisses are real or fake -- but she knows she's in deep. When she gets a chance to go back to Nashville and chase her dreams again, she has a choice to make: stay or go? Continue hoping that the life she wants is one song away, or write her own?

Book Review: As You Turn Away (The Walker Boys #1) by Molli Moran

As You Turn Away
The Walker Boys #1
Molli Moran
Published: March 1, 2014
Publisher: Self-Published
Age Demographic: New Adult Romance
Pages: 256

"Two hearts, one life-changing summer, and a long-awaited second chance..."

When Quinnlan Reynolds left home at 18, she escaped her small, Georgia town and her suffocating upbringing. She started a new life as a ballerina, and tasted freedom for the first time. But four years later, her first visit home turns tragic. Reeling, Quinn tries to piece her life back together again. But doing so is easier said than done when sexy Jonah Walker saunters back into her life.

Quinn shattered Jonah’s heart once, so getting involved with her isn’t something he’s sure he’s ready to do again. He became someone he didn’t recognize when he left home. He’s spent the last years burying his pain by keeping everyone in his life at arm’s length. Now he needs to get to know his family again, and finally become who he wants to be.

But neither Quinn or Jonah can stay away from each other, especially when old feelings resurface. Something is pulling them back together, and they can’t deny their chemistry for long. One Georgia summer could change both their lives forever, if they can work through their past to have a future together.

There is so much compassion stitched within these pages, so filled with wonder, amazement, self-discovery, and healing. Author Molli Moran, has truly out done herself, with her debut New Adult novel. This is contemporary romance written in its best form.

As You Turn Away, will remind you of a time when you are just starting to come into your own and really begin to learn what it's like to experience life on the cusp of adulthood. Wishful Wednesday featuring One Song Away by Molli Moran

Wishful Wednesday was inspired by Waiting on Wednesday and Desperately Wanting Wednesday by Breaking the Spine and Parajunkee.

Wishful Wednesday is my own little version of "Waiting On Wednesday". Every two weeks or so, I'll pick a topic or genre and list a few upcoming books (or book) that I'm anticipating the release for. This week, that book is going to be One Song Away by the amazingly talented and wonderful Molli Moran. I will read ANYTHING that she writes! Molli has this wonderful ability to write stories and characters that will tug at your heart strings and make you swoon with crazy feels. She is definitely on my auto-buy list, for sure! So, stay tuned into the blog, because there will be a review for another title by her (As You Turn Away (The Walker Boys #1) which is her debut NA southern romance novel that she released earlier this year. If you haven't had the chance to snag your own copy of it yet and read, then head on over to your closest AmazonB&N, or even Molli's Website where you can order it and request a signed copy of it.

Expected Publication: 2014
Publisher: Self
Age Demographic: NA Romance (Mature+)

Sophie-Claire Wright's life is going downhill at warp speed. Her songwriting career isn't taking off like she hoped, she keeps running into her cheating ex, and her roommate just kicked her out of their apartment. Running out of options -- and money -- Sophie does the one thing she vowed she'd never do: she moves home. Home where instead of being a free spirit, she's still thought of as a rebel.

Life moves at a slower pace in Sophie's blink-and-you'll-miss-it hometown, but her well-meaning, matchmaking mother doesn't have a slow gear. Sophie invents a boyfriend to hold off an endless stream of bachelors, but she's out of luck when her mom demands to meet Sophie's non-existent boyfriend. Luckily for Sophie, Jake Cooper owes her a favor. Jake -- who stole her heart a long time ago, and is as charming and dangerous as ever.

Sophie is sure she'll be able to resist Jake this time (and his smile, and his abs, and his...everything,) and that their fake relationship will keep them both away from wagging tongues. Just because she was half in love with him years ago doesn't mean she'll fall for him now... But she didn't bargain for moments that feel all too real. And she didn't count on mutual old feelings resurfacing and complicating their arrangement -- which is starting to feel less like acting and more like the real deal.

Author Interview with Molli Moran

In less than a week and a half, one of my best friends and fellow bloggers, will be releasing her debut New Adult novel March 1st. I have been blogging and raving about As You Turn Away for weeks now. I was lucky enough to get the chance to beta read this before anyone else received ARC's for review and you guys are absolutely not going to want to miss out on this beautiful gem of contemporary romance. To say that I've fallen head over feet in love with this story and the beautiful inspiring characters that Molli has created would be a complete understatement. I talk a lot about how beautifully inspiring and amazing they are in my cover reveal post that also includes a small excerpt from the book itself. I also mention it as an "honorary debut" that I'm excited for in my top ten tuesday debuts of 2014 that I'm anticipating, as well. I honestly can't say enough good things about this book and if you've missed out on the chance to read an ARC of it, I'm not sure, but I think that you can still make requests for one over at Molli's Author Blog. I would jump all over that, if I were you for sure!

If by some crazy reason you haven't had the chance to hear about this stunningly gorgeous novel or haven't seen the beautifully designed cover that another one of my super talented and artistic friends designed for it (Marie @ Ramblings of a Daydreamer) then stay tuned, because I'm going to tell you all about it and it's going to be followed with a short interview with Molli where we talk about ALL THE THINGS and you don't want to miss out on that.

Okay, so now that you've been properly introduced to As You Turn Away, let's dish with Molli about all things author-ish, swoon-worthy Walker boys, and my girl Quinn!

LET'S TALK ABOUT ALL THE THINGS
WITH MOLLI MORAN

Me: Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what inspired you to become an author?

Molli: I knew from an early age that I wanted to write, but I've had a lot of stepping stones along the way - people and phases that helped me grow into the author I am today. I think ultimately I always wanted a way to express this NEED I have to tell stories that lift characters up into who they want to become.

As far as who I am, that's always changing, as anyone who's looked at my Twitter bio more than once can tell you. I live in the South, and love it for the most part. I'm an avid reader, daydreamer, and tweeter. I love watching a few favorite shows, and spending time with my favorite people. I love being outdoors, with my pets, or working out in the gym.

Me: How much of yourself did you write into AYTA and how much was a beautiful, touching story that came together organically?

Molli: I never set out to model myself after any characters or experiences, although I think it's an occupational hazard, that a little bit of yourself leaks into any story. I'd say I poured a lot of love into AS YOU TURN AWAY, and I hope if my characters reflect anything about me, it's that - their ability to love, their self-love. Although I started out with a strict outline, at some point the characters just took over, and Jonah and Quinn's story really flowed out of me without rules or plans.

Me: And of course, finally... What was your favorite/least favorite things, while writing AYTA?

Molli: I think my favorite thing was seeing all the little things come together - this or that falling into place, something a character said early on making sense, and seeing the puzzle pieces click so I could see the big picture. There's a real satisfaction in all that.

My least favorite thing was all the times I cried! AS YOU TURN AWAY became such an emotional journey for the characters AND me, but it was all very necessary.

See how amazing this girl is?! She's incredibly fantastic and you know what, so is her book! I mean really, I'm not just saying this because she's my best friend or anything, I would be saying this if she was a complete stranger and I had the opportunity to beta a version of this book before it was released to everyone else because holy batman whoa! This book is incredible!!!!

Find out for yourself on Saturday, March 1st because she's going to be hosting a Twitter Chat where she'll be giving away copies of her book and there's going to be tons of other fun things. You just don't want to miss out on this, because I'm even going to make an appearance that day, but you'll just have to tune in to see how that way is going to be because my lips are sealed and I'm totally hush hush!

So, you can find Molli all over the blogosphere and the social media networks, go check her out, hit her up to chat, and tell her how excited you are for her book to be released. I know that would totally make her day! Oh, and before I forget...

How beautiful is that stunning cover?!

Just simply gorgeously designed by one of the most talented people I know of, Marie Landry, whom I'm lucky enough to call friend. I love everything about it, lord I can't begin to tell you how emotional I've been over this, I cried the first time I saw it. I think I cried, because I know how important it is to Molli to be able to reach out and touch people with this book, as much as it touched her writing it. She's all about THE FEELS and this book has it in spades!

Personal growth, life experiences, chasing down dreams, dealing with inner struggles, and romance!

This is the book you'll want to read this year! And, if you're not convinced yet, Molli has so graciously and generously provided a small excerpt to help convince you to pick it up and give it a whirl.

Excerpt #1: Flashback | Jonah and Quinn meeting
As You Turn Away (The Walker Boys #1)
Written by Molli Moran

“I was thinking about your eyes.” Quinn clapped her free hand over her mouth, but not fast enough to muffle the squeak she made. “I mean, I wasn’t. I mean, I was, but not like - “ She fumbled, and finally shut her mouth, since Mystery Guy wasn’t going to offer her a graceful way out of the mess she’d made.
“Well, I like them too, but this is the first time they’ve had this effect.”

By some miracle, he was still talking to her. Quinn dropped her hand to her side, and then yanked the other one away from his when she realized she was still touching him. His skin was warmer than hers, the sort of heat that zinged through her. “What effect?”

“Rendering a pretty girl speechless.” He grinned at her, and opened the door to the restaurant. “After you...”

“Quinn.” She reached for the door handle again; her hand closed around metal this time. “Quinn Reynolds.” Oh, his voice. He should be announcing radio. Or saying her name, over and over again.

“Jonah Walker. Nice to meet you, Quinn.” Another smile, this one heart-stopping in its glory.

Walker? As in Walker Farms? As in Reece Walker? Reece was something of a legend; even Quinn knew who he was. Reece was one of the best baseball players to come out of their town’s program in the last five years. But he was also known for being a heart-breaker, a hard partier, and the ultimate bad boy. Quinn honestly lost count of the number of lectures she’d set through from her mother about how Quinn was not to socialize with any of the Walker boys.

“You too.” Quinn barely let herself return his smile before she darted into the diner and to her booth. She didn’t trust herself to look back at Jonah, because she already knew no matter what, staying away from him would be impossible.

I could die from THE FEELS alone reading that! I'm talking about bag of butterflies flittering around inside my stomach right now, because it's so sweet, endearing, and charming. MORE THAN ANYTHING, IT'S REAL! That is important when I'm reading a book, the romance has to be sweet, subtle, and not instant right out of the box pudding in your face. I love how Molli refuses to be generic in ANYTHING that she does, which says A LOT about her as an individual and the integrity that she possesses.

She's offering a giveaway for a $10 gift card to either Amazon or B&N, you can enter via the Rafflecopter below. Good luck!

The Reading Jar - January 2014 Edition

 photo THETBRJAR--GRAPHIC1_zpsec10f7a2.png

This year, I have a few different reading goals in mind and I'm going to try and hold to them. One of those was created in the form of a TBR Jar that was inspired by Molli @ Books and Whimsy and other bloggers and fellow booktubers in the community. I'll be be making this a regular monthly feature this year, in order to help keep track of the the two books I'll be pulling out of the jar to be read for each month. They'll be added in with my review books and any other books, that I've decided to read for that particular month.

I'm probably not the only blogger with this idea or some version of it, so I didn't want you guys thinking I was trying to take your idea and make it my own. :)

For January Books From the Reading Jar

 photo TBR-JAR--JANUARY2014_zps6201809e.png

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Love Story by Jennifer Echols

Love Story is going to be read for Growing Beyond YA (GBYA) and reviewed over there for this month and Divergent is going to be a re-read, so that I can finish up with the series and do a combined series review for the blog.

Review eGalley's TBR for January

 photo EGALLEYSTBRJANUARY2014_zpsba7c6670.png

Me Since You by Laura Wiess
Bright Before Sunrise by Tiffany Schmidt
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

I've heard several friends and fellow bloggers talk about what a great author Tiffany Schmidt is and how much they enjoyed Send Me A Sign, so I was really excited when Netgalley approved me for an eARC of Bright Before Sunrise. Molli can't stop talking about how good Me Since You is, so I'm probably the MOST excited about reading that one this month. Plus, any re-telling of Beauty & the Beast is something that I'm going to want to read no matter what.

For the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge

 photo HISTORICALREADCHALLENGEJANUARY2014_zpsfc55c000.png

Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman

The cover is starkly gorgeous and so dark and ominous. I am a sucker for historical fiction, enough though it may not look like it from the vast array of books that I predominantly talk about on the blog. So, when I came across the synopsis for this book some months back, I was incredibly intrigued and excited to read it. It has all of the elements that I'm craving, murder, mystery, romance, and history all bundled up together and so far, it has been so engrossing that its hard for me to put it down to even write this post. All I want to do is curl up and finish this book NOW! Really, it's that good. A full review will come in the following months, the closer it gets to release date, but I will post a mini-review with a smattering of thoughts here later this month. From a new debut author, I really think Anne Blankman is someone to look out for. Definitely keep her on your radar.

Beta Reading for Review

As You Turn Away by Molli Moran

THIS. Is the thing that I am the *most* excited about and can't wait to share with you guys! This book, I feel like I've waited all my life for this, because I KNOW that Molli has and she's *finally* made her dream a reality. I could NOT be more proud! Or, ya know, honored that I'm getting to beta read and review this beautiful novel, as well as post an upcoming Cover Reveal post for it and a mini-interview with her, later. You guys really need to add this book to your Goodreads shelves now, because you're so going to FALL IN LOVE with the Walker Boys and her beautiful writing style.

WOW.
That's it, those are my reading goals for the month of January. Got any goals, books, or anything that you'll be reading or posting to the blog this month? Link up and share in the comments below and I'll make sure to come by and check them out.

Best In Books 2013 (Part 2) - End of Year Celebration of Reads!

Best In Books 2013 is brought to you in part by Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner

Since this look back at Best In Books 2013 retrospective is a bit long, I thought I'd break it up into two parts over the next couple of days. It seemed easier to do that, when putting it all together. So, I thought I'd talk a little bit about book blogging and my reading life in 2013, maybe even slip in a few reading goals for 2014.

Book Blogging & My Reading Life in 2013

New favorite book blog you discovered in 2013?

It's not necessarily a new-to-me favorite blog, because I've been following it for a while now, but it's definitely turned into one of my favorite blogs to visit Ramblings of a Daydreamer. Marie is such an amazing person, with a sweet and encouraging personality and a WHOLE LOT OF spunk! I have loved getting to know her better over the last few months and talking with her about books, personal stuff, and just anything in particular. (HI, DOCTOR WHO NERDS RESIDE HERE!) If you're not reading her books, then you are missing out. They are at the TOP of my TBR pile for the new year. Disquietus, if you're not following Angie then start now! Another brilliant blog with wonderful insight on books, reading, and life in general. (GBYA Forever!) And, Dead Book Darling.

Favorite review that you wrote in 2013?

Oh man, this is kind of hard! Um, let me think...I really loved and enjoyed reading Ink by Amanda Sun, Born of Illusion by Teri Brown, and Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers. These were definitely three of my favorite books I read this year and I feel like I really did a good job at capturing the feel of the books overall and why I loved them so much.

Best discussion you had on your blog?

This one goes to If We Were Having Coffee post that was inspired by a couple close friends and fellow blogges of mine. I was so proud of this post, because it was more personal and real and just encompassed so much of who I am. I'm actually planning on doing a few more of these throughout the new year. I wish more people would have commented to it, though.

Most thought-provoking review or discussion you read on somebody else’s blog?

That would definitely be Molli's If We Were Having Coffee post and also her Tunes for Pages feature. They are both so beautifully written, real, and inspiring. I was also incredibly touched when I read Marie's If We Were Having Coffee post. It's such an incredible feeling when you're able to just click and connect with someone right when you think you've had about all the world could hurl at you and then a door opens and BAM! Someone's on the other side of it and it's the most amazing feeling ever and also a little scary, but just super right and fantastic. That's what these two gals are to me!

Best event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc.)?

One of the best things that I got to do this year, came in the form of an amazing Christmas gift from my sister. I got to go up to the Pink Pistol (Miranda Lambert's little boutique in Tishamingo, OK) and meet Dorothy Shackleford (Blake Shelton's mom). She was doing a book signing for a copy of her novel based on the hit song that she and Blake wrote together, Time for Me to Come Home. My sister surprised me out of the blue with a copy of the book and taking me up there to meet her and just get to visit the store. It was really quite amazing,

The second best thing that happened this year was Molli, Angie, Kay, and I all got together and launched Growing Beyond YA. It's an awesomely fierce New Adult geared blog that will showcase reviews, author interviews/giveaways, discussions, and lots of fun other things stemming around the burgeoning category/genre. We're busy at work right now, planning on the re-launch in the coming New Year, so be on the lookout for that. You're really going to like what we have to offer.

Best moment of book blogging/your book life in 2013?

The moment when Molli told me that her book As You Turn Away was going to officially become a book in 2014. I cannot begin to tell you how much I am so proud of her and how much success I wish her. She really is an AH-MAZING writer with so much HEART and TALENT bursting through her fingertips. There has never been an author who has moved me beyond the telling, as much as her writing has and I've been around for several years to see some of the beautiful pieces of fiction she has breathed so much life, hopes, dreams, and aspirations into. I haven't gotten to read this book yet, but I have gotten to read a small snippet and let me tell you, from what I read you are going to be amazed. So, if you haven't liked her Facebook page do it now. If you haven't added AYTA to your Goodreads TBR, do it now. If you haven't signed up for her cover reveal, do it here.

Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog (whether it be by comments or views)?

I don't know that I actually had one this year, but if we're going on my views alone then I would have to tell you that I wished my If We Were Having Coffee would have been.

Post You Wished Got A Little More Love?

Again this would be my If We Were Having Coffee post.

Best bookish discover (book related sites, book stores, etc.)?

This little podunck little bookstore in Durant, OK that my sister has discovered. Hopefully, I'll get to check it out when I'm feeling better and I'm not so miserable sick and without a voice. lol.

Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?

I almost feel a smidge guilty for saying this, but I had to lower my original Goodreads 2013 Reading Challenge goal by five books, because otherwise I would not have been able to make it. Honestly, though, I'm not going to beat myself up over it because given the things that unexpectedly came up this year and other personal things that happened, I feel like I was able to accomplish a pretty good bit of the reading that I wanted to get done. Plus, I was able to branch out a bit more and that makes me happy, too. As for all of the other reading challenges that I had set for myself, I fell short of them completely and I'm working out different strategies to make sure that doesn't happen again in the new year. I was able to keep with a handful of my 2013 goals for the blog, but then of course, fell short with them as well. So, yeah the new year is going to be quite different around here for sure!

Looking Ahead with Future Blogging & Reading Goals for 2014

One Book You Didn’t Get To In 2013 But Will Be Your Number 1 Priority in 2014?

This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales. I wanted to read it this year, but never had the chance to get around to it. Both my girls, Molli and Angie have been raving about how AH-MAZING this book really is and how much it touched them. I'm also going to finish reading Waiting for the Storm by Marie.

Book You Are Most Anticipating For 2014 (non-debut)?

And this is the part where I direct you to my 2014 anticipated reads, because there are way too many to name and this isn't the whole list yet.

2014 Debut You Are Most Anticipating?

It isn't any surprise that my MOST anticipated debut for 2014 is none other than, As You Turn Away by Molli. I have been incredibly fortunate to get to know her over the last several years, as such a wonderful person, friend, and now aspired author. To say that I'm incredibly proud of her and this beautiful forthcoming debut novel, would be a complete understatement. (And YOU should be too!) I'm also looking forward to reading Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge, because I absolutely adore any retelling of Beauty and the Beast, plus the cover is gorgeous. And, I've totally got my eye on Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman. I'm lucky, I've got an eGalley of this and I will be reading this one pretty soon. Lord, that cover is giving me all kinds of FEELS already!

Series Ending You Are Most Anticipating in 2014?

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi!

One Thing You Hope To Accomplish Or Do In Your Reading/Blogging In 2014?

I think the most important thing is to keep things fun, fresh, and exciting on the blog and read books that I *want* to read and not just let myself get over stressed by requesting to many ARC's/eGalley's. Plus, I want to be a little more personable on my blog and open more about myself and the things that I do and don't like, without worrying too much about what other's may think of it or me. And, of course, I just want to have FUN!

Those are some of my goals and reading habits/changes that I'm most excited to experience or change a bit for the new year. What are some of yours? Did this survey, well share with me. Link up in the comments below and I'll come by and check yours out!
