Guest Post: Dream Casting Characters for Meeting Destiny by Nancy Straight

Dream Casting & Excerpt for Meeting Destiny
by: Nancy Straight

LAURENHis words made my heart soar, my whole body felt warm and my heart rate began steadily gaining speed. Knowing how badly this visit could have gone, I couldn’t help but push my luck, “Max, I need to ask you one more thing. Could you stay just another minute?”

MAXMax glanced at the watch on his wrist, and I could tell he really did need to leave. “Yeah, but I’ve already been gone for way too long. My partner’s got to be looking for me by now.” He moved a hair closer to me, and I could hardly contain my excitement.

SETH“I know this isn’t the best place, and I understand if you tell me no, but if I don’t ask, it’s going to drive me crazy. I was wondering if you feel anything weird around me?” This sounded so strange, but I didn’t know how best to articulate my question. I needed to know if it was only my imagination.

AMANDAMax looked me straight in the eye, “Weird, like what?”

I felt the flush of embarrassment on my cheeks as I asked quietly, “Like, chemistry, a little?”

RACHELMax stood still as a statue staring at me sitting almost straight up in my bed. His smile faded a little as he leaned into me and whispered, “You mean like this?” He softly slid his hand behind my head, pulling my lips up to his. Gentle at first, then increased intensity until I found that I had wrapped both my arms around him, wires protruding from every direction, and my entire body tingled. I grew lightheaded as he eased his face away from mine. He gently lowered my head back to my pillow and moved his hand to my face. Max traced my lips with his index finger. After a few outlines of my lips, he responded quietly, “Chemistry, huh? No, I hadn’t noticed.” His wide smile reappeared with a vengeance.

PAULMy heart monitor went crazy, jumping well into the 100s as an alarm blared to life as if to tell the world what had just happened. Max reached over and pushed a button on the monitor and the alarm muted instantly. As he leaned in for what I was sure was going to be just as passionate as our first kiss, his pocket beeped.

REWSNAMax stopped, rolled his eyes and fished in his pocket, pulling out his blackberry. He looked at the screen with disappointment in his eyes. “Hey, we just got a call. I really have to go. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for continuing this conversation tomorrow, but I really can’t stay.”

“I’d like that, too,” unable to say anything else.

LAUREN'S MOMHe kissed my cheek, “I can’t wait to tell Missy about tonight. Bye.” Max darted out the door as he sprinted off to save someone’s life. The jealous part of me hoped he was being called to help an old fat man.

Dream Casting Characters for

Redheads Are Soulless

by: Heather M. White

One day, I do hope that Redheads are Soulless is made into a movie. That would be AWESOME! :D

DEBBIE RYAN AS SOPHIAThe number one problem with casting would be finding the perfect Sofia. There aren't a lot of natural redheads out there. And, the person who played Sofie would HAVE to be a natural redhead.

If I chose right now, I would pick: Debbie Ryan. She's Sofie's age. She has beautiful red hair. I think she would make a perfect Sofia.

IAN SOMERHALDER AS ROBBIE & JASONAs for Robbie and Jason... Well, they're twins! How hard would it be to find actors who are twins? The PERFECT GUY (in my head), would be Ian Somerhalder. He could just play both parts ;). Him, shirtless? PULEASE!

{Um yeah, I think we're ALL DROOLING a little bit now!! :P}

DAKOTA FANNING AS ADRIANNEAdrianne would be played by Dakota Fanning. Even her eyes are almost the same color as Adrianne's! Seriously perfect!

JAYMA MAYS AS SARAH, SOPHIE'S MOMSofie's mom, Sarah, would be played by Jayma Mays. :)

And THAT is my dream cast!

You can find the preface for Redheads Are Soulless and a teaser as well on Heather M. White's Blog. This book was absolutely SO MUCH FUN to read, you should definitely give it a try. Also, be looking out for my review to come on the blog this Friday.

Guest Post: Kings&Queens Dream Casting featuring Courtney Vail

Dream Casting for Kings&Qeens
by: Courtney Vail

MAJESTYIt’s hard to pick Majesty, but on my website I picked Lucy Hale. I could see her in a more kick-butt, tomboy role, just to break out of the type she normally plays. She’s so pretty and she’s usually glammed up on Pretty Little Liars, but I’ll bet she can also rock a more low-maintenance style too and look really girl-next-door.

DEREKSo easy. No contest. Matt Lanter. Drool. Back when I was still editing the book, I saw him on this episode of CSI, and that was way before his more notable roles in 90210 and Vampires Suck, and I was like, uh, Oh! My! Gosh! That’s him! That is totally Derek. I didn’t know his name and had never seen him before, so I had to hunt down the episode and I finally found his name. There were some pics of him already in IMBD and I was nodding and nodding. I’m like, yes, that is Derek all the way.

ALECTim Urban. Yes, the American Idol contestant who got trashed at nearly every turn, but is actually very talented, in case you don’t know. You must check out his youtube channel to see what I mean. He is too flippin’ adorable and his cover tunes on iTunes are melt worthy. Not only does this dude look like Alec, his personality is an exact match. It’s very creepy. Alec has golden brown hair, and that’s really the only difference. But, the charm, the smile, the muscles, the sweetness … that’s Alec in the flesh.

PRESTONI have Erik Von detten on my site, but he’s really too tall in reality, but if we’re going on face looks and body, yeah, him. He needs to look more cute-faced than typical, cocky jerk, but someone wh could swing either way, and I think Erik is a good match for that.

BLAKEI’m going to go with Kellan Lutz. He has the steely eyes. I don’t really describe Blake more than that, but he’s a close match to what I see in my mind’s eye.

WARRENIt’s hard to find a goth who is cool, intense and nerd all at the same time, but I think Michael Pitt is a pretty good combination of that.

About Kings and Queens
By Courtney Vail

KINGS&QUEENS BY COURTNEY VAILSeventeen-year-old Majesty Alistair wants police to look further into her father's fatal car wreck, hopes the baseball team she manages can reclaim the state crown, aches for Derek...or, no...maybe Alec...maybe. And she mostly wishes to retract the hateful words she said to her dad right before slamming the door in his face, only to never see him again.

All her desires get sidelined, though, when she overhears two fellow students planning a church massacre. She doubts cops will follow up on her tip since they're sick of her coming around with notions of possible crimes-in-the-works. And it's not like she cries wolf. Not really. They'd be freaked too, but they're not the ones suffering from bloody dreams that hint at disaster like some crazy, street guy forecasting the Apocalypse.

So, she does what any habitual winner with zero cred would do...try to I.D. the nutjobs before they act. But, when their agenda turns out to be far bigger than she ever assumed, and even friends start looking suspect, the truth and her actions threaten to haunt her forever, especially since she's left with blood on her hands, the blood of someone she loves.

Guest Post: Dream Casting with Angelia Almos for Unicorn Keep

Photobucket

I am super excited to have Angelia Almos on the blog today, sharing a little more information about her recent upcoming release Unicorn Keep and the awesome celebrities that she would pick to portray them in a movie or television series, if her book were to ever be adapted. If you want to know more about her book Unicorn Keep and enter a super awesome giveaway for one of her other books Horse Charmer, you can visit my current post Release Party for Unicorn Keep and Giveaway for Horse Charmer. I hope you enjoy the post, as much as I did putting it together for you!

"Dream Casting for Unicorn Keep: Characters Who Take Charge"

My young adult fantasy, Unicorn Keep, was a lot of fun to write because the characters had such strong voices. It is always so much easier to write a book when the characters take charge.

Unicorn Keep was interesting in that the original idea was for a middle grade fantasy with a single heroine, but as soon as Herrick stepped out of the bushes and onto the page he made it clear that this was also his story and that I had a lot of it wrong.

I dragged my heels for a little while over the idea of altering the premise of the story. You see, I had this plan for Unicorn Keep, I’d been wanting to write a middle grade fantasy for a while and this was supposed to be that story. But after arguing with Herrick that he needed to step back and be a secondary character for a few days, I realized that I just couldn’t shut his voice out. He wanted his story to be told and I was going to tell it. I finally gave in and rewrote the opening chapters to make the change from middle grade fantasy to young adult fantasy romance.

Not that Jiline just bowed out. Unicorn Keep had started as her story and it still is very much her story, but she gracefully accepted dual-billing with Herrick. Yet, it is Jiline’s journey and her desire to help her best friend that is at the heart of the story.

Though I knew Jiline and Herrick’s personalities almost immediately it took a while for me to figure out what they looked like. I was thrilled when the cover was being designed to discover a model who looked just as I pictured Jiline. But even though she is a perfect Jiline, it can still be fun to play with casting the possible movie. I tend to lean toward actual teenagers playing teenagers in movies. If I was to cast the movie Unicorn Keep, I would pick:

Ryan Newman as Jiline || Josh Hutcherson as Herrick
Bitsie Tulloch as Mage Brennan || Zac Efron Voice of Bai
Paige O'Hara as Voice of Gwyn
